🛑 Stop Wasting Water: The Truth About Full-Vessel Reverse Osmosis

Many yachts attempt to treat their entire domestic supply with Reverse Osmosis (RO) 0 ppm pure water but from an engineering & sustainability standpoint, this is often an “incredible waste.”

Standard RO systems can reject up to 60% of the water they treat. To get 1,000L of usable water, you often need to process 1,600L.

At CRYSTAL WASH, we believe this waste should be a thing of the past – Our systems are dedicated to what matters: The Perfect Washdown (.. & clean interior showers with a small quantity of ultra pure water). While our system has a minor reject rate (35-40%), that water is not lost. It can be redirected straight into your yacht’s domestic tanks. You only use the water you actually consume, making it the most sustainable workflow on the dock.

Ultra-Pure Isn’t Always Better
Using 0 PPM water for flushing toilets, etc. is not only unnecessary, it can be harmful. Pure RO water is aggressive (pH ~5-6). Over time, this acidity can damage chrome bathroom fixtures, solenoids in toilets & internal components of washing machines & metal plumbing fittings and, most of all, water circulation pumps. Treating massive, volumes of water leads to premature wear on membranes and high maintenance costs.
